April Goals

This feels like a super exciting month for me, with lots going on and many things to plan for -which I'm sure  I'll blog about over the next few weeks. One thing that I really find helps me when I'm busy like this is to make monthly goals of what I'd like to achieve, as it's so easy to lose focus when you're dealing with all of the little tasks that happen on a daily basis. So, here are my goals for April.

  • Exercise every day. My life's been quite unsettled since the start of the year, and I've been lacking a proper routine especially for working out. I can't see things calming down any until at least May, but I've decided to stop using everything else as an excuse. A friend and I have signed up for a race a month this year, so I need to get back into training (I'll post about the programme I'm doing soon). I'm going to combine running with the 30 Day Shred again since I can't afford a gym membership right now, and I know that the shred definitely gives results!
  • No fizzy juice. I'm a fizz lover for sure, but if you've read Skinny Bitch then you'll know just how awful it is for you, even if you think you're doing well by drinking diet. I drink lots of water anyway, so if I do get the fizz craving I'll try and substitute it with sparkling water instead.
  • Decide on and secure a flat!! I'm officially moving back to Glasgow in May, so a friend and I who I'll be sharing with are frantically flat hunting at the moment and are hoping to have picked one by next week. So look forward to some flat tour posts in the future!
  • Pack all my belongings. Well, it goes without saying that if you're moving house you need to pack. UGH! It's one of my least favourite things to do, but needs must and I'll probably have a clear out and a wee Ebay sale to go along with it.
  • Read before bed every night. I've still been in a bit of a reading slump and this makes me sad, so I'll be trying to turn the laptop off and hide my phone every night before bed and read some delicious words instead of messing around on Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr.
  • Reply to texts. If any of you know me personally you're already aware that I'm AWFUL at replying to texts. So, in aiming to be a better, kinder person I'm trying my best to reply to all messages.
These are my main goals for the month, but like a lot of you, I do tend to write daily to-do lists and can't function without my trusty Filofax to keep me organised.

What are you working towards this month? Anything exciting?!

  1. If you've been over on my blog you'll know how lost I am without about a million different lists! I've not done an April goals list though - oops, and we're too far in now to start so I might have to do a Spring Goals list instead! It will definitely involve "have fresh flowers in every room of the cottage" and "dance every morning before breakfast" - I will get my thinking hat on. I wish I actually owned a thinking hat.

    1. I don't know why it's commenting from this old google account - how odd, it's Ashleigh (now Millward) at 25to30.co.uk by the way!!

    2. We're not too far in to start, I don't think! I always say if we're still in the first week then it's ok. Oh, fresh flowers is definitely going on my list for next month! And I love the dancing in the kitchen, there's nothing better than dancing yourself out of a funk!

I've tried the shred before and it's fab if you stick to it! Come on toned arms!
